    Match Summary
    Note:

Used additional players in the B-side (just can't put them on the roster due to the database set up).

Jared Demiritt (new to the club) played flanker and center - in the A-side rotation for next week - played great.

Rob Delph (new to the club) temporary Frederick resident - brought his classmates out the game had some good runs and a lot of cheers.

Matt Lerch - came on at the flank played well as expected from an A-side pool player.

Owen Garnett - flanker worked hard as usual.

Kenny Orndoff - on at full back - famous mark and high tackle! HA! HA!

    B-side write-up:

This match was obviously a tale of two halves. We allowed them to jump ahead early with three very quick tries right out of the gate. Which in turn seemed to rattle our confidence and led to more tries in the first half. Flat out we just did not tackle well in the 1st half. Tackling requires a mental attitude, you must have that desire, you must make that commitment, and you must have the confidence in yourself.

That being said, it's much more difficult to muster up that attitude when you are consistently giving your opposite number room to get up a full head of steam and you are sitting back on your heels waiting for him. Collectively, we need to be far more aggressive, defensively at the break down. Most of the half we had our defensive line set at the back foot, but did not attack them from there. We need to help ourselves out by putting ourselves in a better position to make tackles on their side of gain line.

However, in true Frederick fashion, down 50 to 5 at the half, we did not roll over and take it. After gathering yourselves at the half and setting small goals to work on and a few veteran players coming on taking a bit of a leadership role. We dominated play for most of the second half. We played much stronger defensively which created some scoring opportunities. Great job in coming back to win the 2nd half 17 to 5.

OTHER NOTABLES (Strong play): Hedley Armstrong (MVP), Zack Winn, Jared Demeritt and Big Ed Shafer

    Cheers,

    Timmy
