Frederick to Hotel Saranac
515 miles, Est. 8+ hrs

• Take 15 North to Harrisburg, PA
• In Harrisburg, at US 11 / US 15 Exit, bear RIGHT (East) onto SR-581 [Harrisburg Expy]
• SR-581 turns into I-83, continue (North-East) on I-83
• At I-83 / I-81 Exit, turn RIGHT (North-East) onto I-81
• I-81 merges into I-78, continue (East) on I-78 all the way into New Jersey
• At I-78 Exit 29 (?), take I-287 North into New York. {When you cross into New York, you are about half way there!}
• Merge onto I-87 (North) [New York State Thwy] *TOLL ROAD*
• Continue on I-87 (North) to Albany, NY. *BE CAREFUL* This is where it can be a little tricky
• I-87 (North) goes around the West side of Albany and merges into I-90 (which goes to Syracuse)
• Just past the I-87 / SR-85 Exit, is where you need.
• At I-87 / US-20 Exit, turn RIGHT (East) onto US-20 [Western Ave]
• At I-87 Conn / US-20 Exit, turn LEFT (North) onto I-87 Conn
• At I-87 / I-90 Exit 1, continue (North) on I-87 [Adirondack Northway]
• At I-87 Exit 30, turn LEFT (North) onto US-9
• Bear LEFT (North-West) onto SR-73
• Continue weaving through the mountains on SR-73 (North-West) to Lake Placid. (If you want to ride through Lake Placid (may be crowded) or you are staying there, just continue on SR-73, then turn LEFT (North-West) onto SR-86 [Main Street] *pick up * directions below* If you want to cut straight to Saranac Lake, as you near Lake Placid, there will the Lake Placid Airport and some fields on your right.)
• Turn LEFT onto {CR-35} Old Military Road.
• Continue on Old Military Road to the end, where it T's into SR-86 (West of Lake Placid)*
• Turn LEFT (North-West) onto SR-86 and continue into Saranac Lake
• * Follow SR-86 through the 90 degree bend LEFT around Lake Flower
• At River Street / SR-86 [Church Street] split (maybe a light), continue straight on River Street
• At River Street / Main Street light, turn RIGHT onto Main Street (you may be able to see the Hotel Saranac sign, top of the hill on the right)
• Going up hill, bear RIGHT to stay on Main Street.
