Information for the Washington Irish matches

This Saturday we travel just south of the capital beltway to Accokeek, Maryland to play the Washington Irish. I’m pretty sure that this is a different pitch for them so please read he directions!

The schedule is normal, A-side match at 1:00pm with B-side match to follow at 2:30pm. From what I gather the after-match party will be about 7 miles up Rt-210 (on the way back home to Frederick).

This is another league fixture – so we need to travel with two full sides and secure two wins. Please be at the pitch for 11:30am. That way you can relax and get ready to warm-up at noon.

If you want to carpool from Frederick, please be at the 7th Street meeting place (Max Keene Park on the corner of Rt-15 and 7th Street opposite The Spirit Shop) BEFORE 9:45am.

This should take you about 90 minutes from Frederick.

(72 miles from Frederick – 90 minutes)

• Take I-270 south to I-495 (30 miles)
• Take I-495 south towards Northern Virginia and cross over the bridge at Alexandria (28 miles)
• Take I-295/MD-210 south (exit 2A) (1.5 miles)
• Continue on MD-210 (Indian Head Highway) to Accokeek (9 miles). At this traffic light, Rt-373 is on the left; Livingston Road is on the right. A landmark is B & J Carryout on the right.
• Turn right onto Livingston Road, park is on the left (0.8 miles)
 

***Pay particular attention to your mileage while on Indian Head Highway (Rt-210 South). This is because there are several Livingston Roads, be sure to turn at the correct one! You need the Livingston Road in Accokeek***
