Savannah Rugby Tour
March 15-19, 2001
If you haven't been to Savannah, you've miss out. If you have been to Savannah, you're going again. Rooms are booked for players traveling in the tour group. If you are travelling with your wife/girlfriend you will need to book additional rooms for yourself. The hotel is Days Inn, 11750 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA (912) 927-7720.

On paper we have a very deep squad traveling to Georgia this year. In addition to the current players we will also feature some “Old Boys” for lack of a better term. Up from Florida we have Jaime Hugh, across from Texas we have James “Doc” Oliverio and down from South Carolina we have the one and only Major Richard “Radar” Looney (hope that the geography was close enough for an Englishman). We also expect to feature the half back combination of Jim “Sly-Fox” Ford and John “Killer” Redmond at some stage of the competition. The Savannah Shamrocks (tournament hosts) have reinstalled their web page (www.savannahshamrocks.com) and you can get further information about the 2001 St. Patty's Day Celebration at SavannahNow.com.

Who, When, and Where We Play
As soon as I get any information about brackets I will make it available. However, these things are not usually sorted out until Thursday so please assume that you need to be ready to play in Daffin Park at 8:00am on Friday!! Looks like the hotel is about 15 minutes south of Daffin Park, but it will take as long to find out where we are playing and park so count on an early breakfast Friday. Check out the Maps and Directions below.

Savannah Tour Money Due!
Traveling to Savannah, we have a lot of forwards, few backs and a couple coaches/supporters. This translates to a lot of drinking for the forwards, a lot of running for the backs and one or two selection headaches for the Coach! This tour was set up to be as cheap as possible and for about 20 or so people. The good news is that it’s even cheaper than expected, the trade off is that the rooms might be a little fuller than ideal! Everyone who is touring will have a great time and there is plenty of rugby to be played by all. I need to confirm actual tourists by March 1st (You're past due! if you haven't paid). Confirmation is pretty easy; it’s $50 for a space on the van and $60 for a space in the hotel rooms. Please get the money to me before March 1st either cash or check made out to FRFC. Thanks!!
