Frederick Rugby - Who We Are

The Frederick Rugby Football Club is a men and women’s rugby club based in Frederick, Maryland. We are recognized by USA Rugby and all of its affiliates and participate in sanctioned matches throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region as well as tournaments throughout the country.

The men’s club was founded in 1990 and has since flourished on and off the field, fielding two sides and enrolling as many as 50 active players each season. The men’s team has represented the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union in the National Rugby Championship Tournament on multiple occasions, making it to the National Championship Match in 1998.

In 2004 the Frederick Rugby Club founded a women’s team consisting of 25+ players. They are an associate member of the Potomac Rugby Union and will play its first full schedule of matches in the spring of 2005.

The Frederick Rugby Club also includes an Old Boys team and over 60 social supporters/associate members, who regularly participate in Club events and volunteer their time towards the benefit of the Club.

Not only are the jerseys worn for all matches, but they are worn around town and at other functions. T-shirt sponsorship is also available allowing you to have active billboards throughout Frederick and the surrounding area.



• Pub Sponsor - If you are a pub or restaurant/pub looking to increase your customer base and your exposure in the community, become Frederick Rugby's home pub. Our home pub hosts FRFC and their opponents following our home matches. In addition, Frederick Rugby makes your establishment its favorite watering hole, including our venue for regular Thursday night socials. • Website Sponsor - If your are looking to increase traffic to your website and business, consider becoming a website sponsor and having your business highlighted on Frederick Rugby's active website.



• Tour Sponsor - Frederick Rugby pursues international tours every few years and plays in large U.S. Tournaments each year. The club is always looking for additional sponsors for their overseas and tournament tours.



• Golf Tournament Sponsor - Each summer, Frederick Rugby holds a golf tournament with 75+ participants. Hole sponsorships and other sponsorship opportunities are available for the tournament.
