About the Match
Frederick Rugby Football Club will host the Welsh Pwllheli Rugby Football Club on March 24, 2004. The Pwllheli RFC comes to the U.S. from a small seaside town of about 4,000 people situated in the very northwest of Wales. It is still primarily a Welsh-speaking area, 95% of Pwllheli players and officials have Welsh as their first language at work and at home. Pwllheli RFC is bringing some 50+ in their tour party, including about 40 players (Senior and Youth) and several club supporters and rugby old boys. In keeping with the rugby tradition, a social for the visiting Welsh club is scheduled to follow the rugby match. All interested parties are welcomed to watch the match and welcome our visiting friends.

A little more about Pwllheli RFC
Pwllheli RFC comes from an old town, having it received its charter in 1365. Their emblem is the elephant and castle, which goes back to the coat of arms of the earl of coventry who was granted the town by the king in 1365. Pwllheli RFC owns their own clubhouse and the 12 acres on which it stands. They have a floodlit pitch, a second team pitch, a floodlit fullsize astroturf pitch and a soccer pitch. There is also a cricket square and outfield. They run two senior sides and then teams down through the age groups, under19/16/14.13/12/11/10 and 8. This is their fourth tour to the USA/Canada. Previously they have been to Toronto/Niagara/Buffalo, to New York/Denver/Aspen, and to California back in 1992.
